That bait looks great! I don't know if you plan to use that or not but I have made crank baits out of maple and oak that I only put a clear coat on and I've had great success with them almost better then the painted ones. I figure you can't get more of a natural color? Now that I see this bait I'm going to have to make one out of birch. Keep up the good work.

i use propionate same stuff thats on wooden Rapalas &Nils Masters, there´s a few guys here using the stuff i got.I´ve used the lure with good results on brown trout
here in Sweden

Anybody ever combine natural wood grain with some gills, scales, perch bars, etc?
