I always find it interesting to see fish do things like that. Why expend the energy chasing that shiner around to not eat it? It's not like the northern couldn't catch it, it just decided to play around with it.

Can't watch the video due to dial-up limitations. But I once had two upper 30"s fish vulturing next to a terrified fat 16" live sucker I had hanging down next to the boat. Neither fish would hit the sucker, but they stayed with it as I drifted a 100 yards or so of shoreline. Ultra clear water on a calm day, sucker hanging about 4' below the surface, it was like looking down into an aquarium, very cool. Both fish drifted off at the same time, I wonder if they were spooked by a larger fish I couldn't see. Later, the same sucker was slammed and litterally tore in half by one strike from a mid-30's fish. The fish came back and hit and dropped the head side once more, too, but the quick-strike hooks never caught.
