Looking at a new to me boat, I think the dealers a little high but thought I'd ask whats fair. 99 692 Ranger 175 Opti 230 hours on new power head 360 total boat hours. Full electronics older but quality. Newer MG Digital bowmount. Hes asking $18,500 offering $3500 on my trade witch is acceptable, for a total buy me now cost of $15,000. I think along the lines of $12 tops since it is in like new condition. Whats your thoughts????

What matters is what the Dealer will sell the rig for.

For used value, look here:

Sometimes its not really what the boat is worth that leads to a higher price.....its consumer demand....the ranger 690 and 692 are very good boats, They have always sold quick, and don't come around to often and are a desired layout by many. I have fished out of a 690vs probably the best musky layout ranger has had IMO. Also if its in great shape you should have no problem with getting great resale from this boat if that ever arises.

I think the dealer is asking about what that boat will sell for...if the electronics are nice, newer units, gps, color and it is in good shape, he will get 18500 for it...
if you think you can sell your boat for 3500 outright, then he is giving you fair trade in value...i have a 690 and it is amazing how fast they sell when they do come up for sale and how little you do see them for sale...i think because when guys get ready to sell their 690/692's they have plenty of buddies willing to buy theirs....if the motor is in good shape, and the dealer gives you some peace of mind it's not going to blow up the day after you buy it, then I think you are in the ball park of getting a good boat at the right price...
good luck.
690/692's are great hulls/boats.

That's not a bad price for that rig. Check other walleye sites and you'll see that it's right in the ball park, especially since it's got an opti instead of an efi.

Price sounds about right from a dealer, does it have a kicker?...Quick question though, is that really an Optimax on that boat? Did Mercury manufacture a 175 Opti in '99? A few years back the 692 was a rig I coveted and never saw one with an Optimax, the majority sported EFI's. Opti or EFI, that is about the right $ from a dealer. Good Luck.

That would be nice to have a 175 Opti....I guess another question I would have is what trailer is it on? RangerTrail? Tandem or single? I know some 690's were on single axle trailers, not sure if 692's were ever put on them tho...

They came out with the small block V6 opti's in 98 if I remember right.

Its supposedly end of year 99 so it could be a 2000 175 but it is an Opti. Trailer is a tandem Ranger Trail colro matched to the boat. I'll try to includse a pic if me puter knoledge allows. I do think we are getting it regardless providing financing.

I'd say it looks good...if the motor doesn't have any issue's i'd snap it up...otherwise someone else will and have a nice rig.!

With a 9.9 kicker $18,500 would be a great price, assuming the interior is in good shape. Without a kicker, and still in good condition, I'd call $18,500 a fair price. Also, I'm pretty sure that is a 2000 opti.

I seen this ad as well. The interior looks to be almost new. The carpet looks in better shape than most 2005 boats. It looks to be very well taken care of and is priced accordingly. If you want to dicker with price you should take into account what else is available in similar price ranges and conditions.
