Although I like using envirotex, at the suggestion of a co-worker I thought I would experiment with a lacquer just for curiousity.

Well, I didn't like the results.......don't know if I let it dry or cure long enough, but now the lure is ruined.

My question is, what will happen if I just apply envirotex over the lacquer? Can I remove the lacquer without ruining the paint? I'm pissed because the guy seemed to know what he was talking about and I took his word for it without experimenting first.

Thanks

The paints I used are from the Rustoleum aerosol line........I suspect they are oil based, and Excel which I believe is an enamel. This lure is a glide bait and it's either red oak, poplar or birch I don't remember exactly......it was sealed with a white sealer primer.

Just want to clarify woodieb8, I used the lacquer as a clearcoat like the one you use on bare finished wood. The name of it is, Deft brushing lacqer.

Yeah, I know about spraying lacquer paints over enamels LoL........that's how I sometimes do my crackle frog patterns.
