Hi all,

I just got a bait that I want to give to a buddy of mine, and it has a couple spots on it where the epoxy coat is cracked. I have re-covered baits before by just painting on Etex over the other coat, but have read here that you should wet sand in between epoxy coats. I don't want to cloud the coat with wet sanding unless the other coat is going to go on clear. So, who's for sanding, or should I just apply directly?

Thanks,

Eric

If it is old epoxy a light scuffing with a scotchbrite pad or fine sand paper. I know one guy that wipes it down with alcohol.

Yep when I used epoxy I found it best to scuff than wipe with alcohol. The faint scratches will clear up one you put the next coat on.
