IMO cold should not hurt wires/electronics in a trolling motor. Woudl I leave my Lowrance outside? No... My only worry woudl be that on a real windy snowy day you might get some snow blown inside the motor and in spring it will melt but then again this IS a motor made for water use I leave mine on but it is not a $2000 Motor Guide either. Just a good old Minnkota. Mine is also locked onto the boat and insured for replacement value...
