Location: saint paul, mn | Will be heading out to Minnetonka, just hoping someone would have advice as to where to launch the boat, close to good fishing. Also, a general idea of where the boat launch is located, would be appreciated. First time on the TONK. NOT TOO FAMILIAR WITH THE AREA....

| Here is the situation: all the docks are pulled from the public ramps so bring some rubber boots. Any lake map will have the ramps clearly marked...just pick one.
All the bouys are pulled as well so you need to be VERY CAREFUl if you have not been on this lake before, there are mid-lake reefs that are very shallow with the low water levels and you will be almost alone out there if you have an issue.
Surface temps on Sunday ranged from 35 to 38, fish are on the deep breaks and farther out. |

| There is good sand to beach your rig at the Cook's launch as well as Gray's Bay. That is my recommendation. As Bturg mentioned, be careful. That lake can be dangerous with the bouys pulled if you are not familiar and do not have a chip. That combined with these temps.......I'd wait for next year personally. |

| LOL, me too! Seems like every time I get a good fish going another boat shows up. Oh well, there's plenty more spots to go around. |
