I was wondering if anybody knows of a video that shows simulates structure, baitfish, or any thing else. I know weeds, rock, sand, but I was fishing out deep and kept seeing globs of crap suspended in the water colum. did not know if it was baitfish or weeds floating up or what it was. any help would be great.

I think that the globs are bait fish

Netmaster,

You can go to Lowrance.com and download an emulator - it's basically a simulator that works on your PC that allows you to "practice."

Start here...

http://www.lowrance.com/support/Tips_Tutorials/Sonar/sonar_tutorial...

Read the tutorial. Then read it again--I can't believe how much I missed the first time.

There's also a group on Yahoo for Humminbird users, and there are lots of neat pictures:

http://www.xumba.scholleco.com/viewforum.php?f=13

Some of them are Side Imaging, but often they give the 2D sonar view as well.

And finally, there are several more pictures in this Yahoo group:

Click on the "Photos" link in the left side panel, and check out some of the albums. There are even some side imaging videos on that site as well...

These three sites should keep you busy for a few days.

Doc Sampson has a couple DVD's on using your sonar and GPS. Great stuff for the beginner and experienced. He has classes several times a year, too.
