I am thinking of purchasing one of these tackle boxes I was wondering are there any lures you cant put in these boxes? Do they all fit such as creepers, 10 inch jakes I know the lenght will fit but is there a certain width that will fit in these boxes? Just wonderin alot of money involved. Also how many lures can you realistically put in these boxes. If you put bucktails in this box will the lid flatten out the hair? Thanks all alot of money to put out for a tackle box.. JD

JD, lakewood's monster box can fit a lot of your tails without damaging the hair because of the deep slots, as for size well you can fit 2 10 inch jakes or 2 10 in reefhawgs or 2 10 inch Believers in each slots. I say you can fit 80+ baits in there.

JD, lakewood makes a great box, I have two. You can stand on them, sit on them, they are great! The side compartments are a plus to store all your pliers and hook files. Just make sure you have the room for them. They also get pretty heavy when filled. I'm told that they also float when fully loaded. Have not dunked mine in the water to test this out. Good investment!

I've always been a believer in PVC down spout tubing glued together.
However, This past winter I pick up the largest Lakewood Box at Rollie & Helens and I just love it. It has a ton of room and holds your release tools on the side in a pouch and your leaders on the back side of the lid. It also seconds as a casting platform.

I agree with all the posts on the Lakewood Box, they are the best with all the storage and leader and release tool compartments. They are a little heavy but this is a plus they don't move in the boat when in heavy seas. You can't go wrong with the Magnum. I also use the spinner bait box.

Good luck, Murph!

I also have 2 of these nice boxes. 10" jakes fit 2 per slot no problem. I put my surface baits with spreader hooks in the wider middle slots. Holds more lures than I care to use in a weekend. Love the tool pouches too!

I like the Lakewood Monster but use the Lakewood Medium, next in size to the Monster.
The 10" Hughes River bottoms out in the Monster but doesn't in the Medium. The slots in the Medium are not as deep as in the Monster.

jdesox,
For the really Big Crankbaits,Legend "Plows" 13",Hi-Fin Trophy Divers 13", Hookers etc. you will need a B& B Bait Box #2016, 16" deep, 20 compartments, clear lexan insert that flexes to reach in and get dropped crancbaits and easy to see the different colors for quick selection. The outsise and main shell is made by Lakewood for B&B Bait Box Co.. I also stand on them for extra platform space in the back of the boat, they are tough,I weigh over 250 lbs.
