Here it is October 8th and I am still riding one of the purest topwater bites I have ever seen. It doesn't matter what lakes I am fishing, the topwater bite is smoking. Water temps are still hovering in the mid sixties (usually low fifties by now) and the fish are chasing like crazy on top. Looking at the weather it appears that tonight may be the last in a long stretch of weagle/top raider evenings, and I am intending to take full advantage of it.

Looking at the forecast it looks like in a four day period it will shift from topwater to gliders and suckers.

If this is the result of the alleged global warming....keep it coming.

Norm, I wish I could be joining you up north so desperately bad. If only it weren't for this school thing. I sure hope it's not the end of the topwater bite. It sure sucks not having a boat!

Looks like the North had all the great weekend weather that kept the fish moving...

In S.W. seems the high skies and heat kept the fish turned off....

Personally hit the water from 6:30-9 am on sunday...not a sniff...

Wish I had gone north for the weekend!!! 67F water temps on Monona....

Boy that is kinda bass ackwards, isn't it? I'm usually a few degrees behind you guys, but yesterday when I was out the surface temps were 54-55F. Hope things 'normalize' by the P.I. Outing.

We had 74.5 surface temps on Webster Saturday, and a light algae bloom to go with it. Fished a marathon 15 hours, moved only half a dozen fish. Bright and sunny and stupid-hot, even after the sun went down. Is it REALLY October?

Very similar observation down here Norm.....Fish have just been crushing topraiders on the river.

Almost every fish I have seen in the last couple weeks have been on the same black Weagle. If it was raining out it was almost guaranteed to be a good day. Got a 44" and 45" in Chippewa county ("little fish land," LOL, just kidding) on two short back to back fishing trips, which is pretty good for me. Have not had anything really going on bucktails or spinnerbaits for the most part. Wish I could have made it out today during the day when that cloudy cold front moved through.
