Not often you hear pike being considered an invasive species. Only in California I guess??

Sounds STUPID to me, Poison the whole lake to kill the Northern Pike that are eating the Trout so that the trout can be restocked

I saw that also 55 # is typical. I'll catch all the atypical 20 to 303ers they have what a joke

It isn't about the trout in the reservoir, it's about the salmon in the connected Sacramento River system. If the pike make it out, they could really impact the struggling salmon population there, and that would be an ecological disaster. Those northerns would love the Delta.

Hey have the same thing out here in Colorado, the only difference is that we are putting out a load of 40 + " a year, including a 34 pound state record last year, trout is stamped on everyone's forehead!

Love big pike, but I understand there are places where they just are not welcome.

Besides liking to CATCH Pike, I also like EATING them....sorry, Pikopath!!
