| I lost several fish last year to failed store bought rigs, the most expensive well known ones. IMHO do NOT buy rigs with crimps as their _primary_ method of scuring the hooks, they may fail. I like the Bucher double trebble's or make my own with a knot and crip the tag end of the knot. |

| Wolverine Tackle makes the Big Bite Rigs which I use quite often. They offer extra blades so you can change when water clarity is a factor.

| I would use live bait whenever you can, providing you can keep them alive. That is probably one of the big reasons suckers aren't used untill fall, they die too easy in the warm water (i.e. your bait well).
For the best rig out there, you definately need to check out Land O'Lakes tackle, no crimps or snaps, easy to use lift off rig. This is the best one I have found so far. The small jig that attaches to the suckers mouth is a lot easier to deal with than rubber bands. my 2 cents. |
