Was wondering if you will be able to transport suckers around to different lakes or is the no transport rule limited to a few bodies of water? This would be in wisconsin waters.

In Wisconsin the way I understand it is you can not transport minnows once they have been on a lake. In other words no taking them from one lake to another or even back to your house to put them in a tank and keep them alive for the next day. Sucker fishing could get REALLY expensive!

Actually, here's the official DNR order.

Draw your own conclusions. The rules differ for different areas. There's VHS free zones, VHS positive zones & VHS surveyleince zones.

I'm not sure if you're talking within the State, or across State lines. I hear Minnesota plans to start enforcing a rule they let off on for a while. Supposedly, any baitfish over 12 inches in length, is not considered a Minnow anymore. Baitshops can't legally sell suckers over 12" long, like they used to. You can fish with suckers longer than that, but you'll need to buy them from a private hatchery. Not sure about going from lake to lake with them. I'll have to look into it. I do suggest you keep your receipt from the hatchery though, just in case.

Here we go again with the 12" sucker debate. I sugggest catching them in the lake you plan to musky fish or at least say you did!
