Okay George Wahl (spelling?) was the original creator of the Eagle Tail. He was a big smoker. People always joke that the lures had the smell of smoke and that was part of the magic of the lure. Thorne Brothers always knew when a delivery was in because they could smell it.

So I was wondering if people ever tried to blow smoke on them again to 'renew' them or tried it on the new 'smokeless' Eagle Tails from MM. I used to smoke so I never smelt it on the lures or if it was ever there.

I doubt it really did or does anything but figured it was something interesting.

Oh. I guess I would never "resmoke" my EagleTails. I hate that gawd awful smell of cig smoke. Would the muskies be addicted as well if they hit them?

I never realized how bad it smells until I bought a house, packed everything up and when i started to unpack that stink rolled out. I washed everyting I owned the first week in the house. Tossed a lot of stuff.

Told myself when I moved in I would never smoke inside. I still bum a smoke once in a while but I no longer by them. Food tastes better, I have a lot more money and god knows I have way more energy.

If the skis did get addicted I wonder if casting patches or gum might be 'new' bait that could turn into the next Cowgirl. Haha.

I was a hairstylist for 20 years, and one time it came in handy. I was looking for a Black Bucktailed Topwalker, and could only find chartreuse. I used haircolor to dye it black, then wondered if the scent of the color would deter the fish from taking it. I caught one fish on that bait before losing it, so I guess it didn't seem to bother the fish. Not sure exactly how much scent has to do with catch rates of Muskies. Might be something to look into. Good luck quitting smoking Mike.

This has really got me thinking. If we could figure a way out to get the fish stoned they would never follow baits again, that would require work and effort. They would not be able to resist eating the baits because of the munchies. I wouldnt have to spend all my money on expensive baits, all I would need is a bag of Funions and a hook. However they probably wouldnt put up much of a fight. Not that I would know anything about this illegal substance, just something I heard on tv.
