Subject: Monument Bay Resort SOLD?????

Can anyone confirm the post on the other board that Monument Bay Resort is sold and going private?

The post reads:
Hoop:
Guess you don't have to go to Monument Bay Resort ever again. Just heard from a good source that the resort has been sold (it's been for sale for a long time), and won't be operated as a resort after this year.

I've heard that also. If I get a chance I'll stop in and ask Jim. May have to go there today to get licenses.

Sounds like it's sold (to some one I've know for a long time). Went fishing with the new owner's daugther and some of her friends today for walleyes, (actually caught a fair number).

Sounds like they will tear down some of the old cabins, but keep some and the lodge. They'll be building a new cabin on the island. Won't be run as a resort next year.

Talked to Jim and Lynn a little and they and are looking forward to retirement.

Hi Doug,

2 questions for you...

1) Is the daughter single?
2) Did they make you cook shore lunch? LOL

Have a safe and productive fall season.

Yep, she's single, and a swell gal and good looking too, but might be a little young for you.

Nope didn't have to do shore lunch, but filleted a bunch of walleyes, perch, and crappies. I've done my share of shore lunches over the years, and cook a pretty mean walleye. Catching walleyes was lots of fun, may do more of it.

Just got in, there a good deal of algae, but still caught a decent fish, and a bunch of nice northerns.

Boy am I glad to hear you say that you enjoyed your day catching walleyes. I was afraid I'd ruin my reputation by admitting that I fished walleyes more this year than I have since a kid. I think part of it is just my age and another part is the time to let my arms, shoulders and back recover. Do you think it might have been the company you had on the walleye venture? It's easier to socialize fishing eyes than muskies. Stay well.

Doug

If she is single and good looking, have her make a trip south to Nashville. She might enjoy southern hospitiality. I am only 43 if that's not too old.
