Guys, I want to set up a dedicated jerkbait rig this year. I remember some of mention of the Abu C4 reels with their high gear ratio as being a good choice. Are there any others I should consider as a pure jerkin reel? As usual, I greatly appreciate your advice!

The C4 with a 6.3:1 gear ratio is outstanding for many jerkbait applications;however on some of the glidebaits with their more side to side motion you will get a better looking and more complete action with a lower gear ratio reel that allows the lure to complete its swing before the next movement. No trying to confuse you,but trying to point out a subtlety that may help.

Guy unless you got money to burn whatever reel you get be in the habit of putting your thumb on the line spool when you jerk,,this causes less shock or strain on the gears
