| OK, here goes,
How long have you been stricken with the "FEVER"?
Describe your first encounter with the almighty one!
I've been fishing for the almighty Musky for over 17 years! My first encounter was on Lax View Desert with my father when I was about 16 years old (21 years ago). We were anchored and fishing for walleyes, we kept cathing perch so decided to start keeping some of the bigger ones for dinner. I was in the front of the rental boat and noticed one of my bobbers was down. I started reeling and said another perch dad. I got the fish about halfway to the boat and the line took off! I didn't know what was going on, all of a sudden I see this huge aligator looking fish on the end of my line![:0] Dad's yelling keep the rod tip up and I'm yelling what is it, what is it!!! Needless to say we didn't have a big net, the fish came to the boat twice and dad tried to net her but couldn't. Next thing my rod tip was straight up in the air and the fish was gone.[:(]
I sat in the boat shaking, I had never seen anything like it before, my dad was laughing. He later blamed the whole thing on me, told the guy's back at the lodge that it was my fault we didn't get her. All he kept saying was we would have put that one on the wall!!! I NOW KNOW BETTER, AND WILL NOT LET HIM LIVE IT DOWN!!! That was probably the biggest fish I had ever had hooked up!!!
From that day on I had to get my hands on another one of those aligators!!![:p] |
