I am guessing somebody is.

Anyway, I am trying to find the specs on an All Star rod I just picked up.

It is a T38, 908FSX and I am just curious of the specs on the rod in terms of composition? I think it is an older model, since I cannot find it in the catalogue this year, nor can I find it on the manufacturers site. I like the rod but would be a little concerned if it is 100% graphite.

Thanks if anybody can find it.

My 2006 Master does not have this rod listed, I'm glad Shep put him on to the company. m

If it's an older rod... there's a good chance that the new(er) owners of All Star (K2 & Shakespeare) won't know. It was probably a rod made from the original guys at All Star that didn't sell well enough volume wise for them (K2) to continue. Another good bet to find out would be some of the Texas message boards. All Star is huge in the south and I'm sure someone can give you the info you need.

I found them. From 98-00, Bass pro had them for $159.95. Looks like a 7'6" with a retractable butt section. Action was rated at xh,12-30lb line,3/8 to 2 ounce lures. Fuji guides with a sensa touch reel seat. What's unknown is the graphite content as its not stated in the synopsis. But it was made in the U.S.A. KDAWG

Man oh man, this is the only site on the net that has a bunch of people just as smart as I am!! Shoot, even smarter than I am!!! Veritable bottomless pit of trivia here. I hope I can contribute my share at some points in the future.

Picked it up in a pawn shop, rod is in excellent condition, surprised it was that high back then, but for a while All Stars were the hot rod to have.

Mmm, mmm, nothin like a bargain, thanks KD

1st6ft, you are right. they were the rod to have a few years ago. And still woul;d be today if Shakespeare didn't buy them out. I have about 4 of them and would part with any of them. I also don't know what to get if I break a couple of them. Thankfully they are a pretty tough rod, unlike the Croix's I've owned.

So do you make trips to the pawn shop(s) often?????????

Actually I keep an eye on them, good place to get lures, and today I got a needed bowstring for my recurve for the princely sum of two bucks. Checked back today and there were three more all stars there, one spinning and two casting, and they were also reasonably marked but they were all bass size.

BTW, the rod I got is a one piece, I don't think I will get another retractable butt.

I feel for anyone who has to have money so bad that they would pawn a perfectly good muskie rod. Nice find, Jay! m
