Anyone have any word on how the Winnipeg is doing? Heading up there Saturday for nine days.

Thanks

Just returned 7/28/07. I would say the patterns and activity are the usual.

spent first week of July up there. Poorest trip yet. 8 guys-12 muskies. I think we were too early, though. Moved lots of fish every day but they were very lathargic for the most part. That was over a month ago though. I'm assuming the weeds are now fully developed and the fish are going. Good luck!!!

Stayed at paradise cove from July 23-26th and had the best fishing trip of our lives. Our boat landed 6 muskies over 20 pounds in 3 days and 8 overall. Also had 15 northern pike over 10 pounds. We took 16 minutes of highlight video. The bucktail bite was on and I took 3 guys under 19 and they had a blast. We caught them on different combinations of colors, blades, etc. but all came on bucktails. That area has so many good spots on it, we had never been there, but found fish in a lot of different areas. Get ready to spend some $ on gas, as a guy can run a long way on that system.

We used to stay on Rough Rock, but plan to stay in Minaki next trip up. Noticed a few resorts in the area that appeared fairly attractive. Did you like the place you stayed at(Paradise Cove)?

Thanks,

Jason and Monica Schillinger

The resort was very clean, nothing fancy but had a fridge, pots, pans, stove, etc so it was perfect for 4 guys wanting to be on the water and just sleep and eat in the room. No a/c in the cabin so it was very hot so bring some fans or wait until its not 90 out. the cabins by the bar and grill are air conditioned and suppose to be very nice. The cabins we were in were on a nice cove, out of the wind, and very quiet. Resort owners are very nice and they have a fish cleaning house and free ice right there. I will be staying there again next year as i won this trip by placing in the metro muskie tourny in June.

Drop me a line at [email protected] if you want more details on the fishing. Good luck!

Stayed at Paradise the last two years....great place. We have stayed at both Paradise cove (by the bar/in the cove) and Paradise Park (on the point) and i think they both had AC in the cabins. For sure Paradise Park did this year.

Anyhow for what you pay it provides you everything you need. Nice Boat Launches, protected docks to tie up to at night, bar/restruant etc.

Paradise Park is a great stay at resonible rates. Plenty of beds, kitchen and nice screen porches.

Looks like an old secret is being revisited. I used to be able to fish around there and see, maybe, another musky boat the entire day; the rest were all walleye fisherman. Now it is almost all musky guys the past two seasons. I must be bad luck! Every time I find a place to do my musky fishing in peace and quite, excpet for those pesky walleye guys taking up boat landing spots, I am inandated with musky fisherman before too long. Just look at Mille Lacs!!! I fish it once in a while now, but ten years ago I was there every weekend.

Paradise Park for us the last three years. Really great place to stay. Bayview Lodge the previous nine. We are heading up 9/12 for 10 days. Can't wait!
