HI,
Has anyone tried the superlines ex. power pro on fish like trout and and others.

I was thinking that i could use the 10 pound test power pro on those finicky little trout, where line diameter makes a difference. i think it would be andvantages to use a line that has the invisibility of the 2 pound test diameter eith the strength of 10 pound test and the kinkeless qualities of power pro.

so what do you guys think of this?
thanks

I have found that superlines have arnt so great for hokking %'s with other species. Rips the hooks right out. You can counter this with using a lighter action rod if you want. But, I would go with mono.

I have it on a few of my walleye rod's and I like it. One thing, I will use a 2 to 3 foot mono leader when fishing jigs and when rigging. If Im casting small cranks I'll tie it right to the snap.

I use light superlines for all of my general fishing. The stuff is great, especially for light biting species like walleyes. The problem with tearing hooks is alleviated by either lightening up the drag setting so that it slips a little on the set, or by simply not setting the hook so hard.

I really like the new superlines, especially the 10 lb. PowerPro.

Lite superlines do work good for smaller fish. I use 4lb fireline for my spinning reels fishing for bass. Great for rivers too.

I this the drew that used to be here from out east? If so welcome back!

I use SpiderWire Fusion on my walleye jigging rods with great success, you can really feel those hits better when using the superline in combination with a one piece 7' jigging rod.

One bad thing is the light lines on light equipment suck in coldwater/weather,I stick with mono for all small fishies!Just my opinion! Jeff

Drew,

For the main line, superbraids might be ok if you keep your drag set properly. For trout, I would use a fluorocarbon leader if the water is fairly clear. The steelhead rivers I fish sometimes require fluoro leaders even when fishing with 6 lb mono.
