| Just picked up a new Esox Magnum and looking to have a custom travel cover made. I live on the south side of Chicago and was wondering if anyone knew of a place to have one made. I am willing to travel if within reason-Thanks. |

Location: oswego, il | Riggs brothers did mine. They have a downers grove location and a naperville location. Not cheap, I paid 650 for mine but I had some poles added that added 100 bucks to the price. It fits like a glove, I have never seen a boat cover fit like this one does and uses just a couple bungees.

Looks like they have a st. charles and a villa park location too. They do convertible tops as well and when I was there, they had some cool classic cars, a vette and a viper. They do good work and did mine in two days turn around.
There is another place in plainfield. Castellic or something like that, on rt 30 near renwick rd. It did not pull up on yahoo yellow pages. I know two people who got covers there, one was happy with it, the other was not.

| John Cady makes an awesome one. He did a couple for my old Tuffys. He's out of Rockford. You can get his info. thru Even Keel Marine. Very good price, awesome fit. No bungee cords. He uses click and pull straps.

| the amish made mine in ohio his name is erb i got a 17 x 89 boat and with vents and snaps and poles it was 350 if you got amish in the area they are the people to go to. |

| Are snap down covers the way to go or are straps better? What would be the ideal cover for a Tuffy Esox Mag. if cost was not a problem?? |

Good question, I was wondering myself. My old cover on my Esox Ltd. had snaps and the cover worked well. However, I'd rather not have all of those snaps screwed into the boat. Thanks for everyones input. |

| If you can get a cover made that uses ratchet straps in the back, ala Ranger, that would be the best. Snug fitting cover, tight around the perimeter, with a belly strap. That is how my next cover will be made. |

| Our last cover had snaps and straps going down to the trailer. Keep it as low as possible while trying not to allow air to come up from the back and pushing the tarp up. That particular tarp never moved while in tow. The one we have now is the Ranger deal with rachet straps, belly straps and all that mess. It will be in the canvas shop this winter, getting re-vamped. It moves all over and rubs on the boat and windshilds, the belly straps also rubs because of the force the wind is putting on it from the back. They explained to me that it was just a fact that you are going to get chafing and that it could be buffed out. You may have to go with some snaps and straps, whatever it takes to keep it from moving while going down the road. You don't want that $500-$800 tarp messing up your $15000 to $60000 boat. Thanks for letting me vent alittle, I can't wait to get ours to the canvas shop. |

| Thanks for the input, I went with the snaps and straps method with the ratchet system on the back. Sounds like that might do the trick! Thanks again!!! |

| This company in cortland IL makes an awsome boat cover similar to the ranger covers. They are located about 50 miles west of chicago
