I just read an article in the most recent edition of Musky Hunter about the musky transfer from Butternut Lake to Neshonoc. What's interesting is the article states that more fish are to be transfered in 2008 and 2009, but the article does not state where these fish are to be released. Is anyone aware of the location these fish are to be used? I believe I read the DNR stating that using adult fish is an excellant way to jump-start a new fishery. Just a suggestion... All DNR fish transfers are on hold indefinitely in light of the threat of VHS (Viral Hemorrhagic Septicemia). The Butternut-to-Neshonoc transfer always was a one-shot deal, so I'm not sure how the rumor got started that we would be doing it annually. But in the end, it's a moot point. We won't be moving fish from lake to lake anytime soon until we learn more about dealing with VHS.

Thanks, Dave, that's one I don't have to call you about now!

VHS will be a bolt fallen into the works for awhile, I'm afraid.
