Posts: 13 | I have posted in another thread about what to look for when buying my first rig. Just wanted t o see if anyone had any good rigs they are selling for a noobie muskie fisherman. I havent gone out yet, but we are planning a trip to Canada for some big fish soon.

Posts: 1516 | That rod Baldy is sellin is a sweet rod. $200 may sound high for a rod but these are NICE rods. If I needed a rod I'd be all over this one

Posts: 13 | Yeah, at this point 200 for just a rod in kinda steep. I dont want to sound like a cheap skate, because Im not. But at this point in the game 200 is kinda pricey, although Im sure the rod is worth every cent.

Posts: 1516 | Justin Maybe if you had a price range for what you are looking to spent on the combo it could narrow down your options. The advise about the Pete Maina combo's from Bass Pro isn't bad advise That could get you started. One thing you should know is the trend is to longer rods 8" or longer. However, they can be difficult to transport unless you have a boat to haul them in or strap them onto the roof of your car/truck/suv.

Posts: 13 | I would have to say 100 dollars or less for a combo. Unless that wont happen. Then you can call me a cheap skate.

Posts: 13 | How about a reel for my Medium/Heavy Ugly Stick. We've come to the conclusion that it wont really do the greatest job due to use soft tip. Ill just retire my smaller US and use this new one as my bass/trout rod. I need a reel for it though. Any thoughts?
