It pains me to read about the loss of an unborn grandchild and the stuff going on in the cities but there still is alot to be thankful for...

Found out earlier this summer that my dad has cancer but it's very very treatable and the prognosis is very good because of early detection. On wednesday my mom had a terrible headache and was taken to the hospital then flown to Theda Clark and it was discovered that she has a brain aneurysm. She had emergency surgery and is now doing incredibly well considering... No memory loss, no paralysis, and even the doctors are amazed at how drastic her condition is improving.

The type of problem she had, where in her brain she had it, and a few other factors sprinkled in put her in a category where only 50% even make it to the hospital alive. Then figure in those that do make it and survive with the brain intact as hers is, no paralysis anywhere in her body, and overall being as physically strong as she is at this point and she becomes more of an exception and not the rule. Still has a long ways to go but even now just wrapping your mind around it blows you away and makes you realize how fortunate you are if you look close enough....even in the truly terrible times like losing a child, loved one, and so on. You can learn from it and become a better person and wake up the next day with so much going for you.

Btw...being a better person doesn't mean I won't stop giving Merckid crap about ordering flowers for his ex-girlfriend while in the boat fishing on her birthday. hehehehe.

It's a very nice change to hear some good news in a world of chaos.

God bless your mom and the rest of your family and loved ones.

Who's the one moving to North Carolina for a woman, eventually getting married and giving up musky fishing?
