| This weekend was great, got a 44 in the couple hours I was out on Fri. night. Saturday I caught my PB a 50 1/4" big girl that gave me an awsome jump when I set the hook and later one of my two fishing partners caught his PB a 43.5. We also got a 24" walleye, 19" smallie, and 3 mid 30" pike one tagged.
So as Sunday rolled around we really didn't even care if we seen anything becouse it had already been a good weekend on the big pond, mid day my other fishing partner hooked into a 47-50 inch class fish 25 ft. from the boat that thrashed on the surface and came off (3 second fight), she was heartbroken becouse it would of been her biggest and then we all could of caught our PB within 24 hours of each other. I was consoleing her as best I could but little did I know we were about to swap places. An hour later I was bringing in a cyco spin and I gave it a boatside rise and started my L when a HUGE fish came up and grabbed it. I set the hook hard and its head came about 2 feet out of the water mouth wide open right at my feet, its mouth looked like a 5 gallon bucket. It went down and I heaved my rod to get it clear of the trolling motor. It headed for the back of the boat and I gave it some line and said "that thing is way bigger than my 50!" about 10 seconds into the fight my lure scooted up towards the surface and I watched it slowly swim off, the hole fight seemed like it was in slow motion. All I could think about yesterday and today is that giant mouth open at my feet, and seeing it roll onto its side. I'm not one to say how big it was but next to the fifty I caught I'd have to say a solid 53-54" fish. Unfortunatly I really don't fully appreciate the other nice fish we caught now. Just thought I'd share it with a group of people who could perhaps appreciate my pain. Oh-yeah and heres the pics of the little dinks that didn't get away.... JK
