Larry Ramsell.

No one has done more to help us understand these fish, and educate us about muskie fishing history. Plus, he's caught tons of big fish and is a nice guy on top of all of that.

HappyHooker: I'll second your nomination. All in Favor,Say Aye! The Ayes' have it in an unanomous decision The motion carries. Gil Hamm is the best all time Muskie Angler.[:)]

How can anyone else beat founding Muskies Inc? Wheather or not you agree with the group one has to admit that Muskie fishing or the fisheries themselves would not be where they are today without him.

I didn't realize that there was some way to keep "score" in Muskie Fishing...what are the "mesurements"? Is it most fish caught? Is it the most people that they educated in a year? Is it the guy who pushes the most product and gets his name in the magazines the most? Is it the guy who ends up with the most Tournament $$$ at the end of the year?
My point is this, we are talking about a hobby, sport, or obsession.....in other words there is no "BEST" or "GREATEST" in my eyes. But call me crazy if you will....everyone else does.

Muskiekid, thanks for the kind words! Here is my list of Low Key Great Guides:Hands down the best is Mike Lazorus,no one has or ever will get close to numbers of Big One's he has Released.Bill Hamblin many Big Georgian Bay Girls Casting.Howard Wagner not only does he produce Big One's where ever he goes around the U.S.A. and Canada, but almost sets a New Pa Record in a small stream close to home.Capt. Don Miller from St.Clair catches & releases over 300 Muskies a year and some Big One's as well.I must also give credit to someone on my own waters,Mark Maghran who is not a guide but has produced some impresive numbers of Big Muskies over the years.A new comer on the block, hes not a guide,Kevin Selders catches Muskies where ever he goes, many Big One's the last few years.

There seems to be one person that nobody named,my choice for the best is Doug Johnson. He has mad a living fishing LOTW and catching big muskies. His approach to musky fishing is to simplify everyhting and it works! Example; put a lure in front of a muskies nose,if it thinks it is food and is huingry it will eat it.Or fish where the fish live...How much more simple can that be?
There are others I would include on this list.Pete Maina,Dick Pearson,Dave Dorazio ( I agree with Jason on this one),Al Linder, andJoe Bucher. All these men are great musky fishermen and have taught us about the sport we love! From one musky nut to another,THANKS,Paul
