Posts: 221 Location: ohio | While a friend and myself were on the lake yesterday we decided to move to another location. After about 20 minutes into our trip everything was going perfect then the motor stopped, No hint of any problems, It just Stopped, After about an hour of trying to figure out what was wrong, we decided to attempt to use the trolling motor to get us closer to the marina. ( as usual ) there were no other boats around that we could have asked for help..no ship to shore radio ,, just a scullin paddle and a trolling motor,so after about a half hour after that we tried the outboard again and it finally started like it was a new motor. Only thing I can think of was there was dirt in the carb and it finally flushed out..then while we were a little closer to the marina, we decided to fish one more point that usually holds a few ski's, well his fish finder took a crap....it just died, again, no warning it just died..20 minutes later it came back on and worked fine...SO,,we decided to eat a sandwich, and alas,,,,we left our lunches in back of the truck... then, after I ran the hooks to my favorite swick under my thumb nail we decided to go home .. We just had a good friend pass away friday after a fight with cancer,,,we kinda wondered if he was playing pranks with us all day or the muskie gremlins were having a field day with us...and the worst part was that we didnt even see a fish...I cant wait until next week to try it all over again, !!

Posts: 16632 Location: The desert | Were you in the Bermuda Triangle? I had a similar thing happen with another guy on the board....we were doing some shining for the DNR to help them decide where to set nets and the motor died, locator died, and all of the plug in high powered lights died....weird.

Location: Athens, Ohio | "If it twern't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all; Blues, dispair, and agony on me!" Hee Haw Dude, some days when I'm sitting fishless and feel that The Muskie Rapture just took all the fish back to god, someone will ask my how my luck is? I'll usually respond that at least I was lucky enough to get out fishing. Some days are better than others, hang in. m
