I think some of this has been talked about but I'd like to get a clear picture now that I own a few of these units. The rig I just bought has a 111 on the back and I put my lcx 25 up front through my terrova us2. The transducer seems ok in the terrova save for a needed increase in sensitivity which isn't a big deal(it is marking more globby clutter than I think it should too...). Now, I like to run both units on when fishing(musky fishing) so I can see depth in back and front(and so my partner can see what is going on in back). I have heard issues with interference but what is happening is a bit higher on the wierd scale. First off, when I turn on my lcx 25 up front with my 111 on in back, my 25 reads the same depth(number) as the 111 but shows the bottom contours of its own transducer. This is disconcerting(even in shallower water where I normally fish, or under 12'). When I leave the 25 on while running to another spot it is still reading the depth of the 111 but no longer a bottom display. Wierd.

Another issue, is with my 111 in general(it has the 1.7 software by the way). The thing loses all bottom reading in thick or thin weeds under about 8' no matter the sensitivity setting(auto or non), and no matter ping speed, etc. I need it in shallow water(obviously) and find this disturbing as well. Also, it seems to mark more clutter than I feel it should, and skips around between 'modes', sensitivity or asp values even though it doesn't appear that the sensitivy numbers are changing.

Now, I understand that some people have been having trouble with certain software editions, and I'd like to put the right one in. But, I would also like to know what, if anything, i'd be giving up if going to an older/different software package. I'd like to get the best one for both the 111 and the 25. If someone could explain what I'd be giving up, or gaining with a different one, i'd greatly appreciate it. Feel free to drop me an email, or, if I just wasted your time in reading this, ignore me...hehehe. [email protected]

Thanks in advance, and I apologize if I've rehashed things from old threads. I don't check this board often, and my searches have not helped me specifically. I am sure the 111 is a great unit, but just seems to need some tuning that I have not been able to master thus far.

One more thing. Does anyone know if the update(1.7) for the lcx 25c is the same update(1.7) for the 111? It states on Lowrances website that a feature of the update is added bottom tracking ability in very shallow water(under 9'). It seems the 111 does very poorly in shallow water. I wouldn't mind some of the added features(like waypoint sharing) offered in the lcx 25 update, but if it is the same one as the one for the 111 I might not do it. Thanks, and sorry to be a bother.
