Do they own the lake? Probably not
Were you there first and they were nowhere in sight? If yes, then tell them to get lost

am i the only one thinking fire up the motor and circle the structure? Trim the motor WAY up and spray spray spray.

That's not always a good idea. I've caught plenty of fish right after someone flew off of a spot, and have had buddies tell me that they've caught fish right after I buzzed off of a spot. I think (at least down here where there's lots of pressure and boats), that buzzing around like that kicks the fish out of the weeds and gets them up by your baits.

Lotsa big balls here on the internet...

What would I do? I'd laugh and say "I'm sorry sir, but you must be mistaken. This can't be your spot, because it's on MY lake!"

M,
We do not allow personal attacks and vendettas, and if we allowed folks to claim so and so did this or that, we'd spend all day every day trying to verify claims and settle disputes. Not to mention the problem with folks simply making up a story to try to damage someone's reputation...it could happen, and we have better things to do than sit in court defending a libel suit.

Hey guide get a gps and wait your turn. Maybe a walleye guide with a buoy. Sounds believable then. Any guide should be used to having someone fishing where they want to.

hahaha, i have yet to have an experience like this on the water.... I tend to be quite defensive and would not respond well to this kind of situation.... It might end up with a certain guide needing to get an oar removed from an orafice.....

I think he has no claim to the spot but it is his marker, proceed on and fish like you planned too but leave his marker.

I use markers to mark weedbeds in the middle of the river, makes it easier to make my way around. GPS don't work at casting speed and what if weedbed is but 100x50 feet or 1/2x 1/4 miles? Actually seeing that marker on top of the water makes it easyer to know exactly where I am at all times. I also use them to mark follows on large spots as well as hits while trolling large weedlines. none of this can be done with GPS or accurate enough.

Now it may be a dangerous thing to steel someone's marker. I get mine stolen all the time and it peees me off, you get 2 for $5 for gods sake. I was thinking of taping a $5 bill on them with a note to leave mine alone and go buy yourself 2.
