I would like to try to paint a dawg to meet my needs. Has any one done this and if so what kind of paint have you used? I would really like a dawg that has a black back and a white belly or white with black dots. I tried a marker and the black turned to purple.

Posts: 670 Location: Otsego, MN | I used some paint designed for soft plastics, it comes in a little paint can. Kind of like spray paint. I can't remember the name of it right now. I bought it at Thorne Brothers. I have painted many Dawgs and the paint works just fine, just paint and let it dry for a while. I have a few that I painted a few years ago and they still look good. I put a few coats on though when I did it.

Posts: 101 Location: Liberty, IN (OKI Tri-State) | Hey Nut, I believe that Brad & Tina will make Dawgs to order in batches of 25 or so(?) as I recall and if you wanted black w/white spots I am betting that a posting on the Big Boards would soon have you with a sign-up / order list of easily that many folks. Saw this in the past for grape Dawgs and many MI groups have done it over the years. Give them a call @ 920-565-7631 or log on to www.muskyinnovations.com I bet they still do this, even though they are growing so much, because they are really great folks who give and care a great deal about what they do... and who they do it for. Two of the best if you don't know 'em; Dennis on the other hand... LOL "Fired me" ........... still gotta love dem Dawgs. Hope this helps. Brad can make almost anything you can imagine, but talk to him to see whats up now. Good luck ... and keep those Dawgs wet! Posts: 170 | Not sure if it still made, but the can of spray was (is) called "Color Burst". I beleive it was made by Mister Twister, et al...??? I had (and still have) some and it works great for rubber bait painting/tweaking.

Posts: 79 Location: S.E. Wisconsin | I have a Cisco dawg that got a little to comfortable next to a red Sluggo in my box last summer and turned the white to a cool redish color. Got me thinking of "cross breeding" my dawgs to find a custom color no one has...Would post a pic but I cant figure out how to resize it?????

Posts: 8788 | Spike it works for sure, but you have to follow the directions! When it says dip and remove promptly? It means as fast as you can -- leave it in there for more than a second or two and the tail will crumble like day old bread!

Posts: 578 Location: Sheboygan Falls, WI | If you can find Mr Twister Color Burst, that is the ticket. We would custom color Dawgs at the musky shows years ago to show the versatility. Sold a bunch of Color Burst by doing that. I still have several cans. Take a white pearl Dawg and paint the back and tail blue. AWESOME clear water bait. Chuck
