Subject: So what did we learn at the Cave???

Did anyone learn anything interesting at The Cave?

I learned that:

-Lone Wolf should change his screen name to "Mr. Microphone" (he snores VERY loud)

-Sage should NOT be put in Biscuts & Gravy

-Spone Bob is so funny in person that he is actually ENLIGHTENING.

-Sometimes plastic looks just like wood (inside joke)

-Muddobber gets the "M.V.P." for the weekend. (for soooomany reasons) Thanks, Muddobber.

-Sponge bob says "YA LIKE THAT!" in his sleep all the time. (even when he is sleeping he is hilarious)

-If you mix Single Barrel Jack Daniels, Jlong, Musky Illini, Tony Grant, Mike Hulbert and musky fishing politics ....you get a night you will never-EVER forget! (And a drive home from the Cave that you will never - EVER-EVER-EVER forget!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)[:knockout:]

MUSKY ILLINI
"Was that a mouse on a Harley or did someone step on a duck?"

1. I learned that if you order 4 Pieces of toast at the Black bull, you get four "ORDERS". That's like a half-loaf of bread, right Jim?

2. I learned that it can get really cold In March at the Cave.

3. I learned that fur hats are really warm, cept when running WOT into the wind. It blows the ear flaps up, and burrrrrr.

4. Fallow deer is pretty good the way Tony makes it. Same with his Elk BBQ, and Venison Meatballs.

5. I learned that I am NOT the only one this cold front is following.

6. Gambler boats are way fast.

7. We can pack more than 11 boats and haulers in Tony's parking lot.

8. When somebody says to look for the first spots to warm up in spring, listen to them.

9. If you get to sleep first, you rarely have a hard time falling to sleep because of somebody elses snoring. Right Jlong and Musky Illini?

10. Plan a MuskieFirst outing, and they'll come from all over to fish it!

Thanks guys. Had a great time.[:praise:]

See you all at Bone Lake in June!!

I learned that Spring in Kentucky can be wet and cold. I learned that Jim Stella is a great guy to spend a day on the water with, and so is Jason Smith. I learned that I jinx Jason Smith, absolutely NO question. I met Sponge....cool! I learned that one could put 23 anglers together under disastrous fishing conditions and everyone will still have fun.

I also learned that I still can function on less than 5 hours of shut-eye a night...just not very well.....

I learned that Undertakers and Slammers are as good at the Cave as anywhere.

I learned that a Seafood Buffet will put Scott Jenkins out of commission for 24 hours.

I learned that floods and ice and Yankees and trolling motors that break, and wind cannot even BEGIN to bother Tony.

I learned that breakfast at the Black Bull is AWESOME!!!

I learned that MuskieFIRST outings are a hoot!!

See you all there again next year...[] [:sun:]

Hee Hee Heee...I learned>>>>>.
Most "flatlanders don't like scorned women.
Lake should have a floating gas pump.
Flatlanders get cold too.
NOT to trade a bait...for sure it will catch a fish the next morning.[:(]
How to use different baits.
How to toss a bait over the side the boat + pretend it didn't happen.
To bring more Pay Days/Coke Colas.
*Aplogies: to JLong/Matt for keeping you guys up all night...Lone wolf + I enjoy making noise!
***But most of all I learned that each person there was unique + different + I honestly had the best time I had ever on a fishing trip...NO JOKE! I hated that it had to end...even w/ the conditions the way they were not 1 person freaked + we fished like we should; hard + did everything possible to put one in the boat. I consider all you guys friends + would enjoy fishing w/ anyone that was there anytime! A special thanks to Tony, Worrall, + Smith for setting this up....to Capt Larry for the "PAY DAY TREASURE CHEST"...to Tech, Krappie + Cisco Kid for not throwing me out the boat...to Land/Shep for the brats + sausage stick, + to TR TWITCHER BAITS + SLAMMER TACKLE for what they did....it won't be forgotten! And thanks again to all the guys who showed up + made this the BEST TRIP EVER!

Lets see......

-I learned that Jenkin's Tuffy's gas gauge may tell you there is gas but its lying..

-I learned that voice recogition computer programs don't recognize muddobblers kentucky draw! (This was very funny!)

-Like shep, three pieces of bacon means three orders of bacon!

-Scott Jenkins can go threw 2 rolls of TP by himself after a visit to the seafood buffet.

-There is a park in kentucky call BIG BONE LICK...honestly!

-Also, there is a lot of stuff named "lick" in kentucky, whats up with that?

-I too found spongy funny as heck in person. Favorite sponge quote for the weekend: He calls his boss on monday and says..."my eyes are not doing so well, I just can't see coming into work today"

-Throw a bunch of muskie fisherman together and they will make sure everyone has a boat to fish in and that fun will be had by all even if the fishing sucks!

-Nothing like a good stomach purging in the gas station before jumping in the car for a long ride home...right JLong!

I learned that I still can't catch fish on that lake, no matter how good or bad the weather (Dave Christian promises to teach me different this May!). I learned what a wonderful bunch of people hang out on this board, and what a fantastic host Tony Grant is. I know now why Sponge wears a hat. I also finally got in some seat-time on the Gambler without my kid hogging the pedal; I'm starting to enjoy this boat! m[]

Wow!!! Where do I start????

I learned that there is no difference between a "yankee" and a " good ol' southern boy" when it comes to fishing, both will try to help you catch a fish.

I learned how to work different baits that I wasn't sure about, Thanks to Greg and the Lone Wolf.

I learned that it's a long troll from the dam to Scott's Creek, right Mikie??

I learned that death is the only thing that will keep from the outing next year and I'm not sure about that.

I learned that muskys can be caught in the worst
conditions possible.

I learned that if you trade lures with Spongebob, you'll catch a musky the next day. Hey Sponge, what's on the trading block today???

Thanks to all involved, had a GOOD time.

Mauser

P.S. I was right. This trip did make LSD look like aspern![] [] It will be weeks before I stop talking about this.

I learned a ton at the Cave.

I learned that if you are excited to go fishing when its 17 degrees with a 25mph NW wind you must be a muskie fisherman.

I learned that Worrall and I cant fish together, he is a jinx.

I learned that if you put 23 MF anglers on one body of water, you can have a GREAT TIME, no matter if the conditions suck.

I learned that a muskie can be caught on a body of water that rises 20feet in one week.

I learned that vollyball courts and parking lots are great structure. One muskie in the outing was taken off a side walk.

I learned that Jenkins boat has a bad gas gauge, it really showed 1/8 tank boys. LOL[]

I learned that Tony Grant is really a good cook.[]

I learned that if you hear a CRACKING noise when fishing back in cove you might want to be prepared. A 150ft tree fell into the lake not but 150ft away on the other bank. That would have been a bad deal, heck I just fished under that tree the day before.[;)]

I learned that even with the worst possible conditions the members here on MF are some of the toughest and are excited to come back next year. WE WILL DO THIS AGAIN NEXT YEAR!!!!

Hopefully it will be 65 degrees and sunny like normal that time of year.[;)] []

1.I learned that despite how crummy that the fishing is that you can still have fun being on the water.

2.That fishing in chocolate milk really, really, realllllly sucks, but those darn fish will still hold in that crap no matter how clean and clear that the main basin water is.

3.That Sponge Bob can indeed soak up the water really well when the three to four foot waves come splashing over the side of the boat.

4. That when you want to buy a toy prize from a candy machine in Kentucky. That the only thing that you'll get will be a "busted-up" top of the bubble.

5.Even though people from Wisconsin can sure drink the beer, we can't compete in eating as much as those guys from Minnesota and Virginia.

6. That you can park a ton of good size rigs into Tony's small parking lot.

7. That we(Wisconsinites) have an accent????

8. That there's alot of hard-core and good fisherman that frequent this site.

9. That tackle manufactures are very generous with donating their baits for a Muskie First Outing. Again thanks for the kick butt baits!!!!

10. That there's some really fun and friendly people that frequent this site.

catch ya later,
Krappie

-All the MF Cave Run participants were great and fun to share the experience with!-

I learned:

SpongeBob isn't as crazy as he seems, but he's close!

All MF people are great!! The weather and fishing sucked, but the gatherings were a blast.

Old men can keep up with the youngins! [;)]

Everybody has a unique way of fishing.

That tackle manufacturers are great!! Thanks again Muskynut tackle and Slammer tackle for the great lures!

Going 40 MPH into 25 MPH wind speeds with 30 degree temps is not a good idea without a face mask! [:((]

Even some of the best can't catch fish in adverse conditions.

The trip was great! Thanks again Tony, Steve and Jason for a great time. Looking forward to next year.
