Location: Wauwatosa, Wisconsin | I know there's a lot of dawg afficionados out there who use them a lot and can provide guidance here. What works to mend those rips and tears in the tails? Easy and uncomplicated is good. Cheap is good too. I'd like to hear from you guys who have tried different things and what kind of results you've had.

| i like the superglue that's sold by Hawgseekers.
it holds very well, and the fact that it's a gel instead of liquid makes it easy to apply without mess.

Location: Musky Tackle Online, MN | If you're going to go with glue, I would definitely go with the Hawg Seekers glue over super glue. Not only does the Hawg Seekers glue flat out work. It's easier, cleaner and quicker to use than regular super glue as well. There's plenty of people out there that swear by the butane torches or some other form of melting them back together. And this method definitely works for them. Personally, I prefer the glue for the ease of use and getting back in the water sooner.

| I prefer to melt mine back together. I've never used the glue, though. Glue costs how much vs. $1 for a lighter. |

| problem with a lighter is if there is any wind in the boat or where you are doing repairs...good luck
trust me...buy a 10 dollar butane torch |

| Hi Greg, i always keep a coleman stove in the boat and heat an old knife blade till its glowing hot then use this to weld any rips and tears, works a treat and dosnt blacken the rubber. |

| I ordered this from bass pro and tried it out on repairing a dawg tail last nite...works GREAT.
I was using a small butane lighter from Gander but this thing shoots a stronger/longer flame...easy to fill with the butane you can get from gander etc...
I would highly recommend getting something like this or this one for your boat for dawg/joe etc repairs...

Location: Kentucky | I love the HawgSeekers system. The accelerant seals it up fast, within seconds. I've run out of the glue pretty quick, but got a big bottle of LocTite superglue and use the HS accelerant. Works just fine. |
