| I need to replace my batteries for trolling. I have a couple questions for ya. I would like to replace my group 27's with 29's. Will they fit in my battery box or has someone else done this. Another thing is are the walmart maxx batts any good. Right now I have had batteries plus in there for five years so I don't feel that I need to spend a fortune on replacing them, if the next ones last 3 yrs I would be happy. Thanks |

| I have heard Wal Mart deep cycles for the price are decent...
I think you could go to your local Gander and have them special order Trojan AGM's in that size and they would last longer and you'd be happier with your investment.... |

| You do need bigger trays for the 29's... I have been running Walmart big yellow batteries for 2 years now and they are great... $69.99 for one heck of a battery... |

Location: Davenport, IA | I just took a grinder to my battery tray to go from a 27 to 31. I had a walmart battery (brand new) remove paint on the boat and wreck my coat...I would not suggest one. |

| Any lead acid battery would do that if not handled properly. It's not a WalMart issue. |

| Yep, my walmart batteries ruined my backseat of my brand new pickup.. My own fault for being stupid enough to put batteries on my extended cab seat.. Can't blame Walmart for my own stupidity, can only blme Walmart for low wages and lost jobs in the U.S. |

| even the best batteries can go bad. I had a very expensive popular named starter battery go bad/leak recently. handled properly. everything breaks, the cheap ones, the expensive ones. when will everyone realize that on this site? |

Location: Stevens Point, WI | Definately will need the bigger trays for the series 29's, I wouldn't modify the series 27 tray. The DNR would probably frown on this in Wisconsin as it is law to have the batteries secured properly. |
