Hi,
Never fished there. It's a smaller lake, but supposed to have muskies in there. Have a cabin 40 miles from there, was thinking of trying it this year.

Good luck!

Ive fished Deer lake a few times and for the most part it is a shallow lake and just to the east of the island there is a deep hole. Fish the deep hole and the north shoreline for your best chance at muskies. Also there are a lot of northerns in there to keep you busy, and there is also good panfishing. Well hope this helps.

caught my first musky there back in '79! was fishing for bass/pike with a silver minnow and pork frog when a 39"er whomped it. lots of fun on spinning tackle and 10 lb test. anyways....
there are lots of pike and great panfish, not sure how strong the musky population is tho. i do know there are other good lakes around there if you can travel- THE guy to talk to is rob myers from st. croix rods who frequents these boards alot. he'll get you the info you need
good luck

Thank you Steve!
The landing is all sand and fairly tight to get into. Good bass population also. Have been bit off plenty of times. Lake should be pretty heavily weeded so keep things shallow running.
Just south of Deer Lake is the Phillips Chain with lots of water to cover.

I like the little lake, though I've never really seen a biggun out there. The whole lake has one big weed edge, and the island has the most structure, deep water assasiated with it. My girlfriend caught her first one out there.
