Saturday I was lucky enough to get out and fish for musky.
i was like a kid in the candy store with money burning a hole in his pocket since i recieved these new baits from hawgseekers tackle at the milwaukee show in february.
i tested out the smaller version in the big tank in milwaukee and could tell i would like it.
but now to get it out on the lake with some room to fire and to work its majic back to the boat. lets just say my smile spread from wisconsin to lake vermilion..............
its wobble and side to side work is very cool.
i worked it down to about 8 feet and back up off a rock point ledge.
on the third cast i felt something grab it. then again and then again. looked back and a 32-34" class muskies was coming fast about 2 feet behind it. when i slid into my L for the figure 8 it spooked and bolted outa there.it was nipping the tail.
i worked the point 3 more times with the x-hawg and 2 other crank baits with no other follows or strikes.
water temp was 51 in the bay and 47 to 49 on the main lake.

if your'e thinking about an x-hawg i would buy it. i was using the smaller one in a firetiger color. the larger one is big and might be better suited later in the season and i will also troll with it where legal to do so.
when i arrived home from work yesterday, my new one arrived in a silver crappie color. i will have to wait til may 5 to try it but im excited about it.

good luck to all.
may 5 is almost here.

Haven't had a chance to throw an X-Hawg myself yet. But after seeing one and hearing what it will do in the water from Joel and Josh, I look forward to giving it some serious time in the water. Sounds like the perfect combination crank-twitch-jerk bait for both casting and trolling.
