For the first time in the Wisconsin Muskie Tour’s (WMT) seven year history, a tournament will be held on Bone Lake Saturday, June 23rd. Bone Lake is perhaps the most popular muskie water in Wisconsin and the WMT is excited to join in the history and notoriety that this lake has brought to the muskie fishing world.

Bone Lake is a one-day qualifying tournament in the WMT’s western region that includes Yellow Lake, Butternut Lake and the Phillips Chain. The tournament is expected to have at least sixty teams that will be competing for the $10,000.00 first place prize money. The WMT circuit consists of twenty qualifying tournaments throughout Wisconsin with a season ending Invitational Championship that will crown one team as the top muskie anglers of the 2007 season.

On the same weekend as the Bone Lake tournament, the WMT is hosting another one-day event for the western region on Yellow Lake on Sunday, June 24th. The WMT anticipates that both tournaments should fill to capacity and will pay out $10,000.00 to the first place teams at each event. If both tournaments should be won by the same team, they will win the “Muskie Double Header™” bonus of an additional $10,000.00, bringing their weekend earnings to a cool $30,000.00.

The headquarters for the Bone Lake tournament will be at Wilkins Bar & Resort. The public is welcome to attend the awards ceremony and talk with the anglers at 5:00pm following the tournament at the headquarters.

The first place prize money is $10,000.00 in one-day tournaments that have a field of 60 teams. The WMT is open to the public to compete in all qualifying tournaments. A team can fish one event, or as many they prefer. The cost per tournament per two-angler team is only $300.00. The WMT is a twenty-one tournament circuit, hosting tournaments on some of the world’s best muskie waters in Wisconsin. Men, women and young anglers of all skill levels have enjoyed the camaraderie and competition that the WMT has offered over the years. To enter the tournament and for more information log onto the WMT’s website (www.wmtseries.com), email [email protected], or call 715-369-1394.
