Has any one tried the medium heavy 7' in this rod. I was looking to add a cheaper back up rod that could serve multi purpose. I currently use a avid 7'6 heavy for my bucktails and cranks, and a avid 6'9" heavy for jerks. Any input appreciated - thanx.

I'd get a Shimano Compre' with its lifetime warranty. Who knows, it may turn out to be one of your favorite rods?

Some of the triumph's eyes are not lined up right...its all part of the made in China experience. Premier isn't a lot more and is made in the US, which is nice since so little fishing equipment is.

The handle is shorter on mine, which i don't like but my wife likes it, so now its her rod, tip seems snappy even for a fast action
