Took these pics today of some 'skis swimming in the warm water dischage on Lake Monona in Madison, WI. The water was pretty murky, with the runoff from the 6" of snow from 4/11. Counted 8 total and a ton of carp and buffalo.

Is anyone else yelling "eat that carp at the muskys when looking at those pics? LOL.
I went out to Chippewa Falls 5-6 years ago for trade school, and watched muskys spawn below a dam in/ near Eau Claire. It was cool as heck.

Any supertankers there E???

The discharge is usually good for one pig for sure!

I have seen 50 inch fish there before. About 5 years ago I saw a 52 inch tiger! It was huge!

Also the sturgeon! I have seen 6 plus foot sturgeon there....laugh...but several other folks have seen them too....pretty neat spot. And this is NOT the wingra Dam.

I hit the wingra dam at noon yesterday, only 1 40"er swimmin around..need warm weather and they will be back..the hot water discharge is even better IMO.
some tankers in there and usually tons of other species...

I had a 7 foot sturgeon jump 1/2 way out of the water on monona a year ago 10 feet off my bow while casting...I about sharted my pants....

Rob, do you know which dam you were at/around in Eau Claire??? I'm in college here and need something to do for a few hours each day involving muskies!!!!...if there's somewhere I could possibly see them, I would go nuts!!!
If you, or anyone else on here, knows somewhere to watch for them in/near Eau Claire, please let me know.
Thanks, Jake Bucki

medford, I graduated from UWEC in '95, there are two dams close by and both have muskies... the dells pond #*^@ just about a mile upstream from campus, you can park on the road on the east bank and walk down there, and the lake altoona dam, you need to take birch street east, then take north shore drive (QQ)about half a mile, right after north shore makes a hard left curve there is an access just on the right hand side. Mapquest it you should be able to find it.

No superpigs there yet, I haven't see that one with the white spot on her for a year or so, that was a pig. I"ve seen the lake sturgon also, one last year over 5 feet long, hoping for a picture one of these days.

Guest,

Thank you for the directions. Busy this last weekend with a sick girlfriend, but should be able to find some free time this week with all the nice weather.
