Posts: 786 Location: Minnesota | Man!!!! I just got on the USPS site to send something to Canada and they have jacked the rates up so high I doubt anyone in Canada will be buying lures in the US anymore. Shipping cost them more than the lures! I plan on taking my package to the USPS to do this first one live but, the costs seem to be up about 200-300%. If so, yikes! Anyone else send stuff yet and see this? Rediculous if these are the new rates to Canada! I will post back what I find tomorrow.

Posts: 93 | They did crank up the prices but they also have changed some names. And the last thing is prob. causing the confusion. Airmail Letter is now called First Class Mail International. With this type of shipment it is still (pretty) affordable...for a pound it will be $4.66 to Canada, and for 2 pounds it will be $8.26 Take a look. http://ircalc.usps.gov/IntlMailServices.aspx?SD=0&Country=10054&M=2... http://ircalc.usps.gov/IntlMailServices.aspx?SD=0&Country=10054&M=2... PS the only thing I cannot find anymore is the Ground (surface) shipping option....did they quit with that???? Edited by Jokemon 5/16/2007 5:08 PM

Posts: 336 Location: Wheeling, IL. | go to fedex.com and look for FedEx Ground Service. A lot cheaper than US Mail and a lot more reliable. You can ship using the ground service at any Kinkos. Bob

Posts: 786 Location: Minnesota | OK. I did not see that my Letter post was now called "First Class Mail International" Good to see it is still cheap for under 4lbs.

Posts: 1504 Location: Oregon | I have mailed out hundreds and hundreds of lures over the last several years all through the USPS and have yet to lose even one package! I send all of them priority mail in the flat rate envelopes and put delivery confirmation on them. Out of the country I again use priority mail and a flat rate envelope....I couldn't be happier with the USPS. jed v.

Posts: 786 Location: Minnesota | I too only use Priority with PayPal as my credit card processor. Love the free shipping crap they give you. Makes it even with buying your own stuff and shpping it parcel. Nice thing with PayPal too is they will cover you if you have delivery conf. unlike other credit card processing systems which require a signature if you want to win your case.... Verisign is horrible and will always side with the customer even when you provide the delivery conf. from the USPS. I guess for some it is a good way to get free stuff.

Posts: 676 Location: Wisconsin | I just sent up a package to Kenora and it was 23 bucks. UPS was 25. This was for two lures. I can't use a mailer envelope because of the hook size. If I ship to International Falls it is 5 bucks for the same package. Why?
