How do you put a picture of yourself next to your posts?

along the top of this page (below the banner ads) you'll see a couple rows of clickable links.

find the one called "Control Panel", click it.

in the new screen that opens look along the right-hand side and you'll see a place to upload a profile image.
you'll probably need to resize (shrink) a picture to fit the requirements.
