Can somebody fill me in on what the difference is between the Esox Deep-V and the Esox Magnum Deep-V?

Thanks,

John B

There is a Esox Magnum Console and a Esox Magnum Tiller, but I am unaware of an Esox Magnum Deep V.
Try Tuffy's website at: www.tuffyboats.com
Good Luck.

The Esox boats in Tuffy line are designed by muskie anglers for muskie fishing. That style is offered in both the V-hulls and the sponsoned hulls which are the esox LTD and Magnum.

The Esox line offers 60" livewells, 30" baitwells, cooler, lots of front and rear deck room and large rod lockers. The 1990 Esox Deep V offers a built in muskie lure box in the front deck and large casting decks as well as many other extras.

Anon, Yes there are many Tuffy boat users on this site as well as other sites because its become a boat of choice for many muskie anglers. There are many pro's on this site that run Rangers, Tritons, Crestliners, Trackers, Lunds and yes some do run Tuffys.

Hope this answers your questions.[]

The 2 boats you are speaking of are the Esox Deep V and the Esox Magnum. The Deep V has a Deep V hull, the Esox Magnum is a Sponsoned hull. Check out the specs and the hull line drawings at http://www.tuffyboats.com/

Jason - Anon was me, I wasn't able to write my name for some reason. I just meant that you guys can provide an extensively detailed and accurate answer to the question. Asking that question on this site is sorta like asking a car repair question to Joe Pechi's fiannce in "My Cousin Vinnie". []

I will try to clarify this because I was confused by the name of the boat as well...

I am familiar with the Esox Deep V and the lower profile Esox Magnum, I just got the model specification/catalog in the mail today, and looked at it again to make sure I was not imagining things (It's been a long Musky-less winter).

There is a line of boats that are clearly the Esox Deep-V line, the 1990 and its variations and the 1760 with its variations....

and there is the Esox low profile line (Esox Magnum, Esox, and Pike), but there is another boat listed as the Esox Magnum Deep V.

It is 18 feet long and available in a Gunnel Tiller and a Gunnel Console....
It appears to have the same layout and hull as the Esox Deep V but is available in a "Gunnel" version....

I was just wondering what the difference is between say the Esox Deep V 1760 and this boat, the Esox Magnum Deep V, other than 6 inches in length.

In the 2001 Tuffy Catalog, the models with the "gunnel" designation had a taper from the widest point in the front, to the back.

JWB the esox mag deep v is the rampage mag with a new name. I think it was taken out of the line-up for a while.I bought one last year 2001, awsome boat very stable in rough stuff, runs just over 50 mph with 75 tiller, more than enough room, tons of storage 8 ft rod box and every thing else I need in a musky rig. Get hold of S Worrall he will have all the info you need.

That is what I thought, according to the catalog it has a 6" wider beam and weighs 300 pounds less than the 1760 Deep V...

Sounds like a great boat...

Thanks for the info,

John B

The catalog says it is a Deep V, not a Sponsoned hull like the Esox Magnum..

Now I am getting confused [:)]

JW..
It6 is a deep V, but has a sponsoned instead of 'true V' design. It is designed for the anglers that like the stability of the Low profile Esox Series, but wish to fish big water. There is a tr5ade-off in soft ride in seas over 4'.

The 18' model is a great boat on most waters, but is not for the angler that wishes to fish the Great Lakes exclusively.[:sun:]

Thanks for clearing that up Mr. Worral, I am now no longer confused and will be hoping for my Powerball numbers to come through so I can order a new Esox Magnum Deep V...

Thanks again,

John B

Do you think by the time Mercury has a 150 4-stroke, Tuffy will have a wraparound windshield model to fit it?
