| I was at a fishing tackle/range shop the other day and in the reel case I obseved a 6500cl big game reel. The brake adjustment was on the left side, it reminded me of the reels made back in the 70's. Also in bold white letters it stated 'Made in Sweden" on the left side plate. I asked the counter person if I could check it out. Nice, solid, smooth reel with sharp cosmetics. But the reel had an interesting feature I have never seen before. Dual cast control. Both the right and left plates have adjustable knobs. I asked the counter help about it and he did not have a clue how it worked. So, does anybody have this reel? How well does it perform? And how does dual cast control work? I was tempted to bite, but if I buy another piece of equipment, I'll be sleeping in my pick-up bed. Kdawg |

Location: Yahara River Chain | Not dual cast control. The cast control is on the opposite side of the crank. If you loosen the other one under the crank, it will eventually work itself off and drop on the floor, lake, dock, etc - pick one. |

| Technically the right brake knob is usedto center the spool and the left side is used to adjust the tension on th spool. But most people just tighten the right knob down and just use the left knob and that way works just fine. |

these are very good reels...one of my favorites...
just a bit smaller than a 7000 but has a nice big spool, 5.3 to 1
i put a double round gator grip on it and it's a nice reel
you can get them at catfishconnection.com for 95 bucks if they have some left |
