LUND boats will be unveiling their new fiberglass rigs at the Northwest Sport Show.
Pretty big news in the boat world.
I dont generally attend the Northwest show, but I may try to get down there just to check these out.

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I remember the Lund fiberglass boats really well, they were state of the art back then. A good friend, Steve Vogts (now at Frabill) had a Lund Nisswa for years. |

Location: Sandusky, OH | I've read over at one of the 'other' walleye sites that the new boat is a collaborative effort between Lund and Triton (think Brunswick), and will likely be a Triton hull (whether a current hull or a new one, I don't know, but I imagine the 202 is a good place to start) with a Lund-designed interior layout. Let me re-iterate that this is only rumor, and I'll be just as interested as the rest of you to see what the end product really is.

Just found this; looks really similar to the Ranger 1850 and Stratos 386. Gotta admit, I'm a little disapointed.

Location: Madtown, WI | Hey, Here is a old school Lund figerglass boat. These boats are very stable and fun to fish out of. Just finished up building a back and front deck on mine. I bought this one last year to leave up north instead of dragging the tuffy every trip...best thing I ever did....

I'm not sure, with this model, that Lund is trying to reach the hardcore angler. Much like Stratos, and recently Ranger, I believe Lund is going after the family boating market, that also happens to fish occaisionally. Look at the cost of the Stratos, and the Ranger Reatta/Angler. Priced nearly $10K below their fishing series boats, they are reaching out to the family that will not spend $40-50K on a fishing boat, and try to use that for family fun. Tubing, skiing, and just plain on the water fun. It is in the Sport & Fish lineup.
So, if you are a bit disappointed, I guess that is understandable. Perhaps Lund will come out with a Tourney type glass boat in the coming years. You could always look at Tuffy's until then.

If it's coming in $10K below a $40-50K fishing boat, then its priced right where the Stratos and Ranger are priced, probably right between the two. My point being that it isn't unique enough to be noteworthy other than it being a glass Lund. Here Lund had an opportunity to do something very different, and they fell short to me. I'm positive that the inland walleye guys will love it, and the family guys will jump on it, and they'll sell quite a few. And I think its the best looking Lund in the catalog, really love the rakish lines of the hull. It just looks like the missing model in the Triton lineup. I thought Lund was more inovative with the stripped down, troller's dream, Sport Angler series.

Location: On the X that marks the mucky spot | I agree with Bluegill. I was excited with the idea of a glass LE. I suppose it's probably better this way as I don't have the money to spend on a new boat right now anyway. |

And Bluegill, yes. I am lucky to be looking at that boat in the garage. I'll be even luckier this weekend, when it's on the water! |
