Posts: 113 | Okay, I know that people have asked this before. But does anyone have the regular sized bull dawg in the black and glow color, in the old seven strand hand poured dawg?

Posts: 358 Location: London, England | If the reason you want the old style dawgs is because they fold up when eaten you might find it easier to use a new uptown dawg. If you cut down its belly and cut the wire going to the rear hook hanger you can pull the wire out, melt the dawg back together and externally wire a rear treble to the front hook hanger. Dawg never goes out of tune and it folds up in the fishes mouth! The search for old 7 strand dawgs in good condition must be difficult and they were notorious for the 7 starnd unwinding itself off the split ring un-noticed, until disaster struck! Posts: 8772 | I have often wondered if the newer bulldawgs could be altered that way, Tim. Anybody else do this?

Is that what this will look like after the mod, Tim?

I would not use that method. The front hook hanger is only lightly soldered into a loop and could break open. With the back half of the harness cut away there is nothing to stop the front treble coming off if the loop opens.

Posts: 8772 | What about gutting it completely and replacing the wire with 7 strand? Or even flourocarbon?

Komer Only for a walleye 7strand mag dawg. Big difference to me, is the old dawg tails little longer, thinner, seem to run deeper, and don't have to tune the dawg. Steve you would like a Jackpot mod, Komer he would probably prefer the Weagle. Troyz

Posts: 1080 | Magnum, Looking at that pic you've posted, I'd like to buy, from left to right, the first bulldawg (Black/White), second bulldawg (Red/White/Blue) and the fifth bulldawg (cisco colored). Let me know how much $$. Thanks.
