I saw the 10 inch storm kickin minnow in a catalog for under six bucks and said to myself thats a whole lot of bait for under six bucks so I had to buy one . I recived it in the mail toay and was surprised on how thick this thing really was thats a bargin for $5.59 each ! Now the real question has anyone had any successs using these baits ? Any tips on how to use this hunk of plastic ?

that's a great deal on a great bait! they aren't very durable, but for that price it doesn't really matter, where did you find that deal?

I didn't try trolling, but casted the heck out of one for 3 days. It's a load to throw at 5 oz, but comes through the water nice. Snakes on a straight retrieve and you can make it dance and dart easily. Only caught a pike on it, ended up with some good gashes in the lure, but sealed them up with some superglue and it held fine. BassPro has them for around $5.50 a piece, I picked up a couple more last week.

they have been good for me last season i fish lake st clair mich........the little guys do seem to tear them up........i caught about 15 nice fish on them this fall..... i had alot of strikes early season with no hookups on them.......i was told to upgrade the hooks to 5/0 ....so we will see this season......and at 5.50 you cant beat em...... plus your guns get a good workout......

Not sure I want a $5 bait that falls apart when I have my first 50" on... Memories are made by the quality of tackle you buy. I would like mine to be good ones! LOL

PS-Just looked at one. I swear I have seen these on some China tackle sites before. That would make sense for $5. They do look ok though. But for $5 I can't imagine they come with any sort of quality parts. JMO

the terminal parts of the bait are solid, but lips and tails are very fragile. They flat out catch fish though.

They are great lures but not even worth 5 dollars. Its cheap but you would probably go through 20 kickin minnows before you went through 1 hard crankbait or bucktail.

Do you guys who use them change out the hooks? They seem pretty small. I'm wondering if larger hooks mess up their action.

The hooks on the kickin minnow are too small! Change them out with some bigger hooks. The bigger hooks don't mess up the action at all!

I kept the smaller looks on and only started changing them because it just seemed like the best thing to do but I honestly don't think it matters at all...in my opinion. I don't think I have lost a fish with the smaller hooks. I do hate it when the fish hit the tail though! I would just keep the smaller hooks on and be more concerned with rigging a trailer hook.

You can't compare durability of rubber baits with wood/hard plastic baits, no matter how much they cost. To me it wouldn't hurt as bad to have one tore up versus having my brand new mag dawg get it's tail ripped off from a little fish that came up short! Rubber baits add a new dimension to a lure that hard baits can't duplicate but you sacrifice durability. I just wish dawgs were sold $5.50!!!

They are great baits. They have a great action. They might only last a couple fish but there only 6 bucks. If you dont believe me look at the picture of Mike Hulberts boat in the post about boat organization. He has a bunch of them in that pile of lures in his boat.

I boated 7 fish in one day with them. I change the split rings and up size the hooks i use a 3/0 in the rear and a 5/0 in the front.

These things are deadly in the figure 8. Best figure 8 bait I have ever used!

i have seen them on the musky hunter show. i was thinking of getting a few but since they were only $5 i thought they might not be that great of quality.
