| After years of faithful use I hear the brown streak is going to be retired as Mr Reef Hawg (JSchillinger) finally pooped and got off the pot....with the purchase of a 2001 Ranger 690 Tiller! It's about time !!! Now find a good custom rear deck builder and slap a 9.9 kicker on it so you can guide Cory and I around the fox! good work...let's go get er slimed in May... You will have to go buy the required Ranger apparrel now! | |||

| Jason, just don't buy the matching visor and blow your image! Hopefully we can fish together sometime and put it to good use. | |||

Posts: 3518 Location: north central wisconsin | Awwww geez Nellie, why did you have to go and start a thread like this. I wanted to go inburrito in this thing..... I am glad I finally pulled the trigger too, albeit a bit nervous(about where my next meal is coming from that is...). I know I've been the poster child for complaining about boat building these days not being to my specs, all while running a ball of duct tape for a rig. I found this rig a year and a half ago and just kept on the dude to let me know when he sold. Retire the streak? NEVER!!! I'll put more hours on it than the new/er one to be honest, as I can just barely get to most places with it as it stands around here. Should be able to loosten the cheeks slightly on V, G. Bay, M. lacs, LOTW and various other angry brown streak hating waters now though. Cory, I'm still cleaning the carper in the streak... what were you drinking that day, turpentine? Um, no Ranger apparel please. Gimme a Carhart and a Brewers cap, and I'm golden. You can give me one of your cool visors though, they're pretty cool...in a natalie gulbis sort of way... I could easily customize it with a Metalica iron on. I will ask the customization shop if they can scrape the Ranger sticker off the boat, when they build the deck anyhow. I need room for my BLS, Hendrix and Sabboth stickers. Anyone know of a good rear deck customization shop? I could build one but it will look like a piccasso. Can one find matching carpet? Would attach a pic if I could. Will wait till she's in the garage. Haven't even seen it in person yet....yikes.... Have to wait till I get back from down south with the fam. | You can get the carpet directly from Ranger...call their parts dept at headquarters with the serial # and they can send you what you need I believe....

Posts: 91 | J, You will be getting a doctor bill from me as I fell off my chair and bonked my head off of my beer after I read the news. CONGRATS!! Not Quite sure on the layout of a 690, but stop by my dads house and he can explian how he/we built the deck for my boat. I've got 1" of treated ply(a 1/2x4x8 sheet ripped, glued, and screwed) with 1" angle around all four sides to keep it from warping. We did a "custom" dash with some 1/2" heavy duty plastic that he "borrowed" from Domtar. It works slick, ask Todd. In the couple of times I've dealt with Ranger they really are awesome about getting you stuff, right down to the bunks on the trailor. Give me a call if I can help.

Posts: 3518 Location: north central wisconsin | Thanks for the reply Jason. Gimme a ring or email with you home addy so I can send you some info for the club... even though you are an out-o-towner now. I'll have to stop by your parents one day, seeing I drive by there every day. What kind of beer does he like? I will probably wait till I have the rig and maybe he can just point some things out. Do you have storage in yours? Any pictures?

| Congrats J on the new rig, be riding in style. I will keep my eye for the first PBR/Metalica pimped out Ranger on the water. Just get a hold of ranger with your serial number they will take care of you. Troyz | |||
