I was able to preview a copy of the latest" Just Big Muskies-The Shield" last week and thought I'd throw some thoughts out.First, there's nothing like watching the beauty of the Shield when there's 20" of snow falling!Kinda gets one "jonsing" for the season. This video/DVD will have a spot close to the player all Winter.Great footage of some awesome fish and scenes of the Canadian Shield to boot.Where the previous 2 selections from these guys were top notch for action, this one has action as well as some instruction.Casting and trolling.I learned something for the early season up there that I can't wait to try. These 2 guys have flown under the radar for awhile , but it's very apparent that they catch lots of nice fish and with this piece, are showing/telling the viewer how it's done. The Shield can be intimidating for the beginner, but this DVD will help shorten the learning curve. One of the best I've seen on fishing muskies North of the border. Is it June yet????? Thanks Steve!

I have a heat blister on my butt from pulling my credit card out too fast. LOL

Nothing like casting for muskies on the shield!

I too have seen a rough copy of what's to come... the first two DVD'S seemed to be a bunch of meat shots for couch potatoes... Now they are refining their efforts and on track for a WORLD CLASS DVD,... I even had to break the bank to buy a player..LOL... I think I remember many of the places that some of the fish came from.... I've known these two anglers for a long time and they are not done yet... More good shots to come... Don't break the toy WK

Hi Steve,

I really wanted to come but a friend that I have not seen for a while is coming to Point. We are heading up to the Turtle flambeau Flowage to nail some jumbo perch and crappies.

Would have been fun talking muskies with you Dave and Jason. Hope all is well with you and hope to get over there in July or August with Dave or Greg.

It’s getting to the point where I drive to the storage shed, open the door a stare at my boat! Com on spring!

Take care!

Ed

If you fish or are planning to fish Mille Lacs,,,they give away alot of good info in the first two especially has far has baits that work up there if you pay attention to when they are unhooking fish

Hey thanks Steve! We appreciate it! Yes, we will be in Blaine this weekend in booth #123 right down the first aisle on the left hand side. You'll see the big flat screen TV.

We'll have our 3rd offering, V3 "Just the Shield"(along with V1 & V2 "Just Mille Lacs"). Brian and I are pretty excited about it, it has 30 big fish on it with 13 over 50" along with graphics, lures and "how to" information on casting and trolling.

If you're thinkin about buyin, I'd wait for the show, we're gonna have some really good deals.

See you there!

Just a question, I saw the first "Just Big Muskies" DVD and I won't complain about the quality of fish caught, but rather the quality of footage. I remember thinking that it was basically just a slide show of big fish in the boat. I personally watch/buy fishing videos to see the fight rather than just to see big fish, bob's close encounters of the right kind was my kind of a movie... not having to hear bob talk was a bonus as well. So I was just wondering if the new installments included a little more of the fight or more specifically, the strike. thanks.

Hey!

V3 "Just the shield" has more extended fight scenes then V1 (which was edited to try fit as many big fish on there (45 over 48") with out the video being super long). Also alot of "how to" as far the lures we use and the areas we fish to catch the big ones, also info/graphics on how we fish a given area.

As usual. it's got a bunch of big muskies, but short on strikes. But it also has a 2 50" fish day and a 4 fish day with the fish averaging 51" on it. I'm pretty sure you won't find that on any other muskie video.

I would personally buy the DVD just to see that portion.

I appreciate your honesty, and I love the strikes as well!

Erik Jacobson

P.S. We're tryin to get more strikes on video......it's harder then it looks :<)
