I am not sure of the number on the chip. The website gives it a Premium Code of PREM-C3.

The Crow Lake on the chip is not Kakagi/Crow Lake by Nestor Falls. Rainy Lake is the same data/image as the Canadian Hydrographic Maps.

Is there a new LOTW chip coming out? I bought last years navionics Hot Maps premium #SD/PREM-C2 Dated Jan. '06 and it was fair. Had the bouys marked, but the map wasn't even close to the actual position on the water. It always showed me running over land and bouys. I really needed to watch my trails coming home after dark, not that it is a bad thing, I realize the potential dangers running on LOTW after dark. I also bought the Lakemaster # LMMCLOW0706. Although the mapping appeared better, that chip doesn't cover the part of the lake I spend most of my time on, so no big advantage there. Last week I was at the BPS playing with the new Lowrance 112, and moved the courser up to LOTW because I heard the 112 came with a new bundle, and that was the worst map of LOTW I've ever seen. So, sorry for rambling, is there a new, better LOTW map due in the future? Maybe one similar to the Lakemaster of Vermilion? Thats a great chip!

Thanks for your help!

Bret

There is a new Navionics chip out that is called Lake of the Woods +2 and it has what is done of Lake of the Woods in high definition mapping and the rest is Canadian Hydrographic data. It does not have the Winnipeg River on it, but it has all the big lakes in Minnesota (from Mille Lacs north) in high definition detail. It also has certain lakes in other states and in Canada. It is a $99 chip and is so new we don't have it on our website yet.

The Lakemaster chip is of U.S. waters only. There is a company working on the rest of the lake, but they have barely even touched the western part of Sabaskong so far.

The Hot Map chips are utilizing Fishing Hotspots data and it is not accurate. You will be constantly running over islands and if you are down by the NW Angle it will show you about 10 miles inland at times!

Before the LOTW+2 chip, the only one that utilizes Canadian Hydrographic data was the Navionics West Great Lakes chip and that has Lake of the Woods, Winnipeg River, Rainy Lake, Lake Superior, Lake Michigan and Lake Huron on it. It is still the only chip that I have seen the Winnipeg River on. http://www.thornebros.com/muskie/electronics/navionics/gold_greatla...
