Location: Rhinelander. | Looking for some big bass crankbaits. I know they will be smaller then our standard musky baits. I need some to fill a gap in my bait selection. Most I can find are just a little too small for what I need. I use alot of the small tuff shad but looking for something smaller then that. I have little ernies and baby raiders but not wobble I am after.

| One of the biggest bass I have caught was on a perch colored Suick while fishing for musky and a nice musky on a Baby B1 minus crankbait. I know this is not what you asked for, but the 1/2 ounce chatterbaits have been catching really big bass.

| The DB4's are a nice lure, but some of them are a one-fish lure, while others last a long time. I wish that they still made the shallow running model of the DB3 and 4.
I think that they are making the original Big O again. That's plastic, and is a good shallow running crankbait.
I bought a bunch of Poes 2 years ago when they were in the bargain bin at Fleet/Farm. If you can find any of those, they are good lures, deep and mid range and are about 3-3.5" long.
Bass Pro Shops has their XPS series and Cabelas has their own series of cranks, most of them get no bigger than 3" but they do catch fish in the early season. |

| I use a lot of larger bass/walleye size Rapala cranks. The largest tail dancer has put many fish in my boat.
I always upgrade the split rings and hooks. Most of the hooks on bass baits are barely up to snuff for a very small muskie. If you stay with the same sizes you don't change the action. The VMC high carbon 4x hooks work well for me. |

| I love the Rapala Husky Jerk 13 with upgraded hooks and split rings, along with the medium size Storm Crank baits. Also try the 5 inch Tuff Shad and 5 inch Big Game Twitch Bait, along with the 5 inch Crane if you can find one

Location: Lake Vermilion Tower, MN | Magnum Wally Divers have caught some of my best early season fish over the years.
Reef runners with the shallow running lips are also a real good Pike and Muskie bait. I get a number of incidental fish on them with clients fishing for walleyes and Smallmouth bass.
