Has anyone used the Fish Hez face mask? If so did you like it? Did it work as good as advertised?

Have seen them, have tried them on, but have not had the opportunity to have used one while running. I did however get quite a bit of feedback from some of the PWT pros this past summer. I heard nothing but good from them.

I think a cheap used snow mobile helmet would do the same.

The only thing about a snowmobile helmet is that they do not stow away in a majority or really any compartments in a boat. The weird shape of a helmet is a down side. I would say another cheap option is ski goggles, ones that are fog proof, that's what I use and have served me very well. Then also combine a hooded sweatshirt, and good outerwear like Cabela's guidewear with a good hood, you will be set to go.

It's not the bugs most times, it's the weather. 58MPH in 29 degrees for an hour and a half, and you'll be looking around the rig for the helmet.

A fleece lined nylon helmet bag is what you need. This allows you to stow a helmet without worrying about where you put it.
On a cold day like Steve is talking wearing a helmet is great if you are going 40+
If you don't have snow lid, most good motorcycle full face helmets have optional dual pane shields.
I have a Fulmer D4 w/electric shield that stays clear no matter what the weather is doing. It it very light and comfortable and inexpensive $140 w/ the shield & bag. I like to stay warm at WOT! Can't wait for the ice to go. I've got spring fever bad.

Pepper,

Friend of mine has one; loves it for those late fall/early spring trips for walleye on Erie. Also loves it when he fishes in his Brother-in-law's bassboat; single console at 70mph, the full face coverage is great. Storable and cheaper than a good snowmobile helmet, they definately have there place.

If you are a passenger in a side console boat, Like Lori is in ours (as well as others who we had the benifit of sharing the boat with), You have three options:
1) Rotate the seat and look were we were
2) Sit behind the driver
3) enjoy the breeze in your hair and wear shades

I bought two Fish Hedz at the MN show last season. Absolutely love them. I used to use motorcycle/snowmobilt helment and hated them due to size etc.

Fish hedz stow easy, they come in a bag, fit over your glasses, they are not too hot in the summer months, and in the cold you can pull the hood of a sweatshirt over the fish hedz and you are warm as toast.

I would recommend them to anyone.

Mark,
I've used mine for 2 seaons and it has been one of the best investments I've made. Bugs, rain, snow and cold are held at bay, and most important is that you have a full field of vision. Steve

Thanks, I was concerned the rain would run off the mask and down the inside of my rain coat

The biggest problem is that they fog like heck. I'm going to sell mine and buy a motorcycle/snowmobile helmet instead.
